Excellent list! I know how long it takes to not only put together, but to find these initiatives in the first place and then cohere them into some sort of meaningful framework—well done!
If I may comment on one angle that seems to be missing. For that I need a bit of an analogy. All religions have their artifacts. Artifacts from one religion are meaningless in another. Religions are a belief system. Capitalism is a belief system. Capitalism has artifacts (markets, money, material goods and a supply chain).
The list you have compiled represents an alternative belief system to Capitalism. Many of them still rely on the artifacts of Capitalism. In other words, they are still dependent on the belief system they claim to transcend. At best they can be more effective. At worst they are hypocritical.
This is part of the lack of coherence we've discussed elsewhere. It's a tricky one to resolve, and I'm not suggesting there is a 'right' or 'wrong' way here. All I can do is point out the incoherence, and since you have a marketing slant, you'll understand why this is important. It's part of what I'm trying to address in my own Substack.
It really is. While I love many things about being nomadic, it makes it hard to connect and find others. I’m lucky to have some regular people I pet sit for, so it gives me some degree of stability. I can make plans with friends around those dates.
But the line between peaceful solitude and loneliness can get fuzzy.
Hi there, what a great resource list! I've read some (Meadows obviously included) and will make a start on the rest. I'm really interested in the unified messaging strategy and campaign as a. messaging is my bag and b. I've just arrived at the keen need for coalescence in the [wellbeing economy] movement. I'm a member of WEAll and connected with WEAll Cymru. Is there any way I can help - please feel free to reach out if so.
Hi Philip! Thanks so much, so happy to connect. Would you be down for a quick chat to figure out how you might help / how what we're doing might help WEAll?
Pretty sure myself and Matt @ Antidote Live understand what can unlock the bottleneck but we deffo need more help (and input!).
Thank you so much! This dreaming beyond capitalism has taken up most of my life and I’m thrilled to discover so many new resources. What a relief that our collective longing is now finding each other with so many beautiful creations of love and structure!
I offer the Zebra’s and their Exit to Community (E2C) work done by the University of Colorado.
There is also the American Sustainable Business Network.
The book Holocracy holds a form that gives everyone full domain over their area of accountability in any type of organization. I used it in a small managed support IT business and the remote techs said they felt more supported and heard than in any other job. It starts somewhere 💜
Thank you so much for these! Was just having a chat with someone about Holacracy, and we've used Sociocracy in The Moneyless Society for years now, absolutely love it and didn't know about the American Sustainable Business Network!
Ah, thanks so much! Going to keep updating and building an ecosystem of supports off of this. Is there anything you might add? Your own "Saving the World by Saving Each Other" strategy?
Where is the stuff talking about how to secure the raw material resources required without having to “earn” them the conventional socially accepted way?
Thank you so much for the time and effort to collate this. I did a TikTok the other day asking where all the people were who want to build the new rather than just tweak/protest the old - got no recommendations or traction at all....seems Substack found them for me! Thank you!!
Yes, there are SO many of us here! I'm working on a network-effect campaign to reach out to all those influencers with only protest in their toolbelts though :)

Let's tackle this thorny challenge in unison!
I know exactly what you mean and happy to continue to suss it out and continue on toward coherence! Thank you, this is beautifully said xoxo
Thank you for sharing this list. I’m a nomad myself, and community has been feeling rather elusive lately.
It's very difficult to get rooted in community when you're constantly moving, isn't it? I'm a nomad myself, though not by choice!

I’m glad to meet a fellow nomad here!

Where is the stuff talking about how to secure the raw material resources required without having to “earn” them the conventional socially accepted way?
Sorry, can you maybe give an example so I can understand what you mean?
Wow
What an incredibly useful piece, thank you!
This newsletter is everything I’ve been looking for and didn’t even know until now. Thank you for sharing these resources.
